Dr. Ellie Ledger BDS FDSRCS – Dental Surgeon
Dr. Eleanor Ledger (Ellie) qualified from Cardiff University in 1991 and spent her early career working in hospital dentistry, gaining a Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1994.
Ellie gained valuable maxillofacial surgery experience working in the casualty department of Cheltenham General Hospital. She is now a registered specialist in surgical dentistry and regularly accepts referrals from other dentists for complex dental procedures. Ellie has specialised in treating nervous and anxious patients and is qualified to administer various sedation techniques including intravenous anaesthesia.
Ellie also specialises in placing and restoring implants, having completed a year-long multisystem dental implantology course at Trafford General Hospital in Manchester over 8 years ago. Ellie is proud to place and restore implants herself, from simple single-tooth replacements to large bridges and complete mouth implant rehabilitations using the latest All-on-4 technique. She is also experienced with cases requiring bone grafting, from simple alveclor grafts to sinus lifts and complex grafting procedures.
Ellie keeps up-to-date by attending several courses a year and is a member of the Association of Dental Implantology UK.
Dr. Leah Adams qualified from Birmingham University in 1997 and since then has gained broad-based experience working in hospital, general practice and community dentistry.
Prior to joining Arnica Dental Care in 2007, Leah spent five years specialising in treating nervous, anxious and dental-phobic adults and children, and heads up sedation at Arnica.
Leah is committed to continuing her professional development. She completed a Diploma in Conscious Sedation at Cardiff University in 2012, a master’s degree in Conscious Sedation in 2013 and postgraduate training in Advanced Restorative Dentistry and Sedation and Anxiety Control at Bristol University.
For several years Leah has been a clinical lecturer at Cardiff Dental School teaching Conscious Sedation to undergraduate students and post graduate dentists on the diploma and MSc courses.
Leah is a member of the SAAD (Society of Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry) teaching faculty, and lectures regularly on the national SAAD course.
Leah also leads update courses in Conscious Sedation for dentists and nurses in the Cheltenham area and regularly mentors them at their practice.
Leah lives in Cheltenham and enjoys a busy family life with her husband and two children.
After qualifying from the University of Glasgow in 2002, Dr Gillian Kemp joined the Royal Naval Dental Service as a Dental Officer. During a Naval career spanning more than 12 years, she worked in different-sized practices, aboard ships and was deployed overseas twice, including a 6-month operational tour to Afghanistan.
To continue her professional development, Gillian has most recently completed training in pain and anxiety control as well as mouth cancer awareness and periodontal updates. She is a member of the British Dental Association and the Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry. As a mentor she has prepared junior dental nurses in preparation for the National Certificate of Dental Nursing examination.
She joined Arnica in January 2015 with a keen interest in developing her experience of treating nervous patients. Her range of experience includes overcoming language and cultural barriers and treating adults with no prior experience of dentistry.
Gillian is committed to helping anxious patients and believes that establishing trust between patient and dentist is a vital step towards helping patients overcome their fears. She is also passionate about preventative care.
Following several national and international deployments, Gillian is now enjoying life in Cheltenham with her husband and two young daughters.
Dr Guy Bailey qualified as a doctor in 2004 from University College London and went on to further training in surgery. He gained his membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2007.
Five years of postgraduate hospital experience in plastic surgery, orthopaedic surgery, ENT surgery, emergency medicine and maxillofacial surgery then followed. He found his true vocation when undertaking further training as a dentist at Guy’s Hospital, London, qualifying in 2012.
Guy is also a member of the Royal Society of Medicine and the Society for Advancement in Dental Anaesthesia. He particularly enjoys treating patients who have not previously been able to see a dentist due to dental anxiety or phobia.
Guy is qualified to offer conscious sedation to anxious or phobic patients requiring longer, more complex treatments.
He is fully committed to postgraduate education and has gained qualifications in sedation dentistry and implantology. He is about to enter the final year of the University of Bristol’s highly regarded Master’s Degree in Dental Implantology.
Guy loves the outdoors and enjoys a wide range of sports including surfing, kitesurfing, skiing, wakeboarding, swimming, cycling and rugby. However, with his first child on the way, these activities are surely about to come to a sudden halt.
Elizabeth Outlaw was educated at Pates Grammar and trained in dental hygiene at the Birmingham Dental School, where she was awarded the Oral-B Cup for Hygienist of the Year when she qualified in 2001.
Liz is an active member of the Gloucestershire Independent Hygienists and also the British Society of Dental Hygienists. She regularly attends the meetings to keep up-to-date with current thinking and developments in Dentistry.
Liz has undertaken many further eductaion courses to maintain and update her clinical skills, most recently completing James Goolnik’s teeth whitening course in London.
Liz has a wealth of experience treating a wide variety of patients from the very young to the very elderly. She derives great satisfaction from building excellent rapport with all her clients as well as reassuring them and building their confidence with her calm, caring and gentle manner.
Her aim is always to put patients at their ease whilst carrying out a high standard of treatment to achieve excellent clinical results.

Julie – Dental Nurse
Julie joined Arnica in 2005 and has been in the field of dentistry since qualifying as a dental nurse in 1974
Over the years Julie has attended many courses on oral surgery, implants and sedation. She find this aspect of her work very interesting and she loves to see the pleasure on patients’ faces when they see how good they look in the mirror, when their procedure is complete and they can smile with confidence.
Julie gets a huge amount of satisfaction from treating nervous patients who are very dental phobic. She finds it very rewarding to help them complete their dental treatment.
Tracy – Dental Nurse
Tracy qualified as a dental nurse in 1982 and worked in the same practice for 8 yrs. She then took a totally different direction for the next 13 years working in private medical insurance, specialising in customer service.
Tracy moved to Gloucestershire from Kent to manage a local beauty salon and at the same time she studied holistic therapies which she still practices. 4 years ago she returned to dental nursing and has worked for Arnica for the past 16 months.
Tracy loves the variation of her role at the practice and that we can offer so many different aspects of dentistry at one practice.
Tracy sees her role as a dental care professional, working closely alongside the dentist, but at the same time is very passionate about providing excellent care to all our patients.
Debbie – Dental Nurse
Debra Nazarali has worked with Dr Leah Adams here at Arnica for almost five years.
She qualified as a dental nurse at Bristol Dental hospital in May 2001 and has also qualified in oral health education and dental sedation.
The patients here at Arnica like Debra’s calm and gentle personality. She likes to chat and put patients at their ease before, during and after their treatment.
Outside work, Debra likes to spend as much time as possible with her family and friends.
Jolene - Dental Nurse
Jolene started her dental career in 2010 as a trainee dental nurse in a busy NHS/Private practice.
She gained her National Certificate in Dental Nursing in 2011 and shortly after moved to a private practice in Cheltenham where she worked for three and half years, during which time she attained her Radiology for Dental Nurses Certificate with the BDA.
Jolene joined Arnica Dental Care in September 2016 because she was keen to work with nervous patients and patients requiring complex surgical procedures like Dental Implants.
Jolene enjoys keeping fit and spending time with friends.
Izabela - Dental Nurse
Izabela is a fully-qualified chef. She moved to the UK from Poland in 2006.
In 2008 she decided on a career change and joined a Cheltenham dental practice as a trainee nurse.
With the experience of working for two further practices under her belt, Izabela gained a National Diploma in Dental Nursing in 2016 and joined Arnica in September 2016 as part of the practice expansion.
Izabela is particularly interested in cosmetic dentistry and facial aesthetics including botox and fillers.
She has become a fun, lively member of the team and is very popular with patients. In her spare time Izabela enjoys spending time with her family including her 13 year-old daughter and friends.
Louise joined Arnica in 2013 and was promoted to practice manager in 2014. Since then she has been instrumental in refining Arnica’s systems and procedures to ensure we maintain exceptionally high standards of treatment and care.
In September 2016 Jo Dhillon took over as practice manager so that Louise could focus on continuing to refine patient services and to look after the individual requirements of our referral dentists.
Married with two children – both at University, Louise enjoys spending time with family and friends and out walking with their miniature schnauzer Remi.
Karen Errington – Patient Co-ordinator
Karen joined us from another private dental practice in Cheltenham in 2010.
Since then Karen has become a valuable member of the team as she is particularly good at looking after the well-being of our most nervous patients.
With her friendly, calming approach Karen is able to help patients relax and feel comfortable before and after their appointment.
Out of work Karen enjoys spending time with her family and grand children.
Margie Browne – Patient Co-ordinator
Having worked at Greyholme Dental Suite in Cheltenham for 11 years, Margaret, or rather Margie as she is known to everyone, joined Arnica in January 2014 replacing long-serving Liz Belcher as one of our three Patient Co-ordinators.
“Being the receptionist of a busy dental practice is my idea of a perfect job, as I love meeting and looking after people as well as being part of a close-knit team.”
Hester Gooch - Patient Co-ordinator
Hester joined Arnica as a patient co-ordinator in January 2016 having managed her own beauty and massage therapy business.
Prior to that she worked in various client-support roles and was invited to join Arnica as part of our 2016 expansion.
Having quickly established herself as a popular member of the team Hester enjoys helping patients, especially nervous or phobic ones, feel welcome and relaxed.
In her spare time Hester enjoys swimming, running and relaxing with her husband and two teenage sons.
We think a lot of Sarah because she is friendly, approachable, and above all she really looks after the both of us.
