Arnica Dental Care goes fully digital with its new iTero® Intraoral Scanner

Earlier this year Arnica celebrated the installation of our CBCT digital scanner that produces high-definition, three-dimensional images of the teeth and gums enabling our dentists to see bone structure and tooth orientation in more detail, giving them a better understanding of the issues and how to fix them!

6 months later and we are very proud to announce that we will become a digital impression practice with the acquisition of the best-in-class iTero® Intraoral Scanner.

The iTero® Intraoral Scanner is a state-of-the-art digital impression system that eliminates the need for traditional impressions which are messy, uncomfortable and stressful.

For nervous, anxious and dental phobic patients requiring impressions as part of their treatment the benefits of the iTero® Intraoral Scanner include:

• No gooey putty, uncomfortable trays and probing fingers
• No gagging
• No unpleasant taste or smell
• Breathe and swallow as you normally would
• Scanning can be stopped and started as many times as the patient (or dentist) wishes
• Patients can ask questions or take a sip of water at any time
• Patients can breathe or swallow normally

Not only does the iTero® Intraoral Scanner make treatment requiring impressions so much more comfortable and less stressful it also means patients can:

• View their 3D scans on screen with their dentist immediately
• View a simulation of what their teeth and smile will look like when treatment is complete

With better accuracy comes better results as scans are far more accurate than impressions which means that Invisalign Invisible braces and retainers, teeth whitening trays, bridges and restorations such as dental implant prosthetics fit precisely requiring little or no adjustment.
